Okay, so here it is, I've solemnly pledged to never step into an IKEA again. Why? Well because it's always packed, even though they have an incredible design oriented organizational system I get extremely overwhelmed, and I low-key get a panic/stress attack every time I go into that place (oh and of course I over shop and over eat - yes, if you haven't tried the IKEA food it's a must...no joke!)
NEVERTHELESS... I have to give it to them. Besides the unforgiving instruction manuals and delivery fee, it is an incredible company overall! Seriously though, they are always on point with their brand story, have become a fully green committed and renewable company (from recyclable furniture, to even their iconic plastic bag), and they've always gone above and beyond with their beautiful ad campaigns. Believe it or not, they've outdone themselves!
The multinational furniture company that keeps reminding us about The Beautiful Possibilities just released this ad and it's breathtaking...but actually! This video has everything, from family and emotional appeal, to showcasing important topics of today such as immigration and sexual acceptance. But not in the cliche (oh-so-overrated) way that brands today tend to do by throwing homosexual couples into their ads and finishing off with a hashtag #loveislove. But in a real way and relatable way. In the commercial we see two girls going to prom together with a touch of innocent love, an young immigrant girl – who we are made aware of her background by a photograph pinned on the wall – playing with kids in the neighborhood, and my ultimate favorite scene: a mom painting her nails along with her little boy! Now, THIS👏 IS 👏 REAL👏 PEOPLE👏 ! All of this by the soundtrack of "It's a Wonderful World". And we haven't even gotten to the main idea of the video yet, which is the world from the perspective of a kid, which is essential for this video because it gives us that innocent perspective out of every scene, which makes us as the audience naturally more open to it as a beautiful moment. The video finishes with a voice-over saying: "We can all have the beautiful kind of world we want. We can all have the beautiful kind of home we want" reminding us that we live in a beautiful and diverse world....and btw shop at IKEA for a gorgeous home. And for this, IKEA, I salute you!
